Photos of the Week - February 23, 2009

This week we have a singular photo of the week. This photo was taken during a stroll down RT 22A on the way to a basketball game in Glen Falls, NY. I am not exactly sure what town this is in but I know it lies somewhere between Panton, VT and Vergennes, VT. Enjoy!

Photos of the Week - February 16, 2009

This weeks photos of the week again come from the University of Vermont Basketball team. I promise that after next week I'll switch it up a bit and show something different, but I had to put up something from the game as I am excited that I got photo credentials at Patrick Gym and have good access to the court. For this weeks set, I am going to go with a common theme. I'll call it "Getting To The Rim." This features six photos and four different players, (the last photo, for those of you who may have attended the game, or listened to it was the big dunk with under a minute in overtime by Blakely that pretty much sealed the deal). Enjoy!

Photos of the Week - February 9, 2009

The legendary and recently departed sportscaster, Jim McCay coined the term, “The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat.” These words come to mind for this weeks photos of the week, which pain me to post. While I do love the UVM Mens Basketball, I was shocked by the let down they had in the second half last Wednesday. These photos come from the rematch between the previously top ranked Catamounts in the America East as they tried to avenge their first conference loss of the season to Binghamton. In this tale of two halves, the Catamounts roared out of the gates rolling into halftime with a 23 point lead at 53-30, as Mike Trimboli nailed a jumper with time expiring. In a Manny Ramirez like fashion, he then proceeded to high five all the old timers in the front row before heading to the locker room. That was the good part. After intermission, UVM found themselves with a 25 point lead as the proverbial wheels began to fall off. Binghamton proceeded to hit three pointer after three pointer and D.J. Rivera pushed his way into the lane with 7 seconds left to put the Bearcats up at 85-83 and that was that. What ensued is this weeks set of photos of the week. You will see “The thrill of victory, and the agony of defeat,” after a team who was all but out makes an amazing comeback, and its opponent gives away a W.

Photos of the Week - February 2, 2009

For this weeks photos of the week, I am going totally un-sports related, which you may find is a rarity on this blog. For all of you non-sports lovers, cherish this weeks entries! Next week should have something coming from the big UVM basketball match-ups I will be attending against Binghamton and UAlbany this week. When looking at this weeks set of photos, try to envision yourself in the mind of the subject (a beaver). The facial expressions seen in this animal are a bit anthropomorphic, as in my eyes they exhibit three distinct human emotions. Although as humans, sometimes we look at creatures like this as a wild animal, if you observe these photos closely you get a sense that they may be able to think and feel like we do. Take a look and see if you can observe what I am getting at.
